Australian Plastic Waste Materials Recycling Survey

The commercial recycling of plastic waste in Australia reached a record 91,260 tonnes in 1997, almost double that of 5 years earlier. Plastics waste collections exceeded this volume with strong increases recorded in most states according to the latest industry survey . The results published by SIRA are based on the annual industry census carried out on behalf of the Plastics and Chemicals Industries Association.
